Why I Did Not Collect Certificate Of Return – Femi Gbajabiamila

Speaker of the House of Commons Femi Gbajabiamila has denied rumors that he is running as Chief of Staff to incoming President Bola Tinubu. He made this clear to state legislative reporters yesterday after a meeting of the All Progressive Congress (APC) National Working Group with the party's new members. He said that in Lagos he was campaigning for the APC gubernatorial election, but he could not receive his return certificate. He said:- "I don't know anything about this Chief of the General Staff.

All I heard was that I didn't come here last week to pick up my return certificate. “I was in Lagos and I was campaigning for my party so I couldn't leave Lagos. I didn't come here because I couldn't receive my return certificate from INEC. Regarding meetings with the party leadership, he said: Congratulations to all. "We haven't gotten that far yet, so I'm not talking about zoning issues.

We have elections this weekend, and we had to get everyone home, roll up their sleeves, and get their hands dirty." We're not there yet, and before we can start talking about parliamentary leadership, we need to force a victory.

The reason we didn't discuss zoning is that we all agreed to wait until after the election. Senator Ali Ndume said the talks went well. That's what we expect from the party. We went home to evaluate our performance and take the win to the end. Nigerians have decided to speak up and vote for the APC. As always, the election process has its ups and downs.

“The party appealed to its elected members in NASS to downplay leadership issues and focus more on running the election campaign to the end.

“The issue of zoning was not discussed. The president, vice president, party leader, and secretary are all senators, so you have a National Congress government, so you can have a grudge-free relationship.

“We agreed that the members of the National Assembly should base their leadership on what they believe is best, taking into account the issues at stake and the establishment of justice, fairness and equality. It means we need to get in. The next president will make a decision in due time."
